Our endorsement classes offeronlygrad credit. A 3-hour grad credit course is recognized by CPS for 3 lane credits and by ISBE as 45 CPDU/PD clock hours. When seeking your endorsement from ISBE after finishing the required classes, you need to have USF send your transcript to ISBE. When you apply for the endorsement, you will click on "Other" in the university drop down menu (as USF is not an Illinois university). You then indicate that your classes are from the accredited USF in "other".
CPDUs/PD Clock Hours
Since 2016 ISBE only allows school districts and universities to award CPDU/PD Clock Hours. JBV is a sub-contractor of these hours under CPS. When listing a JBV course in ISBE for re-certification credit, you need to listCPSas the provider (i.e. we are sub-contractors and CPS is the provider). Regarding the University of Sioux Falls, they are not an Illinois university so they cannot grant CPDU/PD Clock hours. You must list your graduate credit (which is the equivalent of 45 CPDU/PD Clock hours) and identify USF (or "other university") in the ISBE drop down menu).
Lane Credits
We advertise our non-endorsement classes for CPDU/PD Clock hours (they are 45 hours) and they have also been approved by CPS for Lane Credit. Each JBV course is worth 3 Lane Credits. While you can print our a certificate of completion for the 45 CPDU/PD Clock hours, there is no such option for Lane Credits. When you are ready to advance a lane, you complete the CPS Lane Advancement form (found in CPS website) and submit. All of your Lane Credit courses are in the Learning Hub and CPS has access to them that way.
